Our Philosophy

Our goal is to help each client through what may be one of the most difficult times in their life with compassion and understanding, and to do it as efficiently as possible.

No one gets married and expects to become divorced or has children with a partner and expects to separate. We take the time to listen - to get to know the details and the big picture - to ensure personalized attention so we can help you do what is best for you and your family.

We believe that an amicable resolution is preferred over a trial since people know their families and individual situations better than the lawyers and the courts. However, people can have a reasonable difference of opinion requiring a judge to resolve issues. We believe that our clients should be prepared for this contingency while also trying to work toward an amicable resolution to avoid unnecessary delays.

There are also situations where spouses/partners are simply difficult and unreasonable. A "plan b" should always be kept in mind - a more hardline aggressive strategy to deal with a difficult and unreasonable party who will not cooperate and participate in the process in good faith. Whether we start with "plan b" or reserve it for later is a strategic decision individual to each client.
