Timothy V. Sorell Associate
Tim Sorell joined Winter & Grossman, PLLC recently in June, 2018. Tim is a native of Albany, New York, but obtained his undergraduate degree from California State University at Sonoma. After years of working in advertising, Tim attended law school at the Touro Law Center where he obtained his law degree in 2004. Tim was admitted to the New York and Connecticut State Bars in 2005.
Since his graduation from Touro Law Center, Tim has spent the majority of his legal career practicing in the fields of Family and Matrimonial Law. Tim is a former Staff Attorney for the legal Aid Society of Suffolk County, Inc., Family Law Bureau where he represented indigent individuals in various Family Court proceedings. Later, Tim served as an Assistant Suffolk County Attorney representing Child Protective Services in Abuse and/or Neglect matters and has also prosecuted Juvenile Delinquency and Persons In Need of Supervision Matters for the Suffolk County Department of Probation.
Mr. Sorell has completed programs to further his skills in the areas of Family and Matrimonial Law such as the New York State Best Practices Program for the Forensic Interviewing of Children and has published an article for the Suffolk Lawyer titled "Mental Illness and Self Representation".Tim is an experienced practitioner and has litigated various Family Court and Supreme Court matters.
